Visit Split Point Lighthouse

You can’t really come to Aireys without seeing the lighthouse. Split Point Lighthouse sits above the coast at Aireys Inlet and is one of the town’s most recognisable landmarks. Explore the lighthouse precinct, take in the views across the coastline and Eagle Rock Marine Sanctuary, or head up the lighthouse itself when tours are operating.

Find Your Favourite Beach

Beach days come in plenty of different forms around Aireys Inlet. Explore the coastline around Aireys itself, wander down to Sandy Gully or venture towards Fairhaven and its long stretch of sand. Whether it’s swimming, surfing, rockpool exploring, walking or simply finding somewhere to sit and watch the ocean, there’s plenty of coast to discover.

Walk the Coast

Some of Aireys Inlet is best discovered on foot. Coastal tracks around town take you between beaches, cliffs, bushland and lighthouse views, with walks suited to everything from an easy wander to a longer adventure. It’s a good reminder that you don’t always need an itinerary here. Pull on your walking shoes and head out.

Discover Eagle Rock Marine Sanctuary

Below Split Point Lighthouse lies Eagle Rock Marine Sanctuary, protecting a stretch of coastline filled with reefs, rockpools and marine life. Explore from the shore or simply take in the views from above as you wander through the lighthouse precinct.

Aireys Inlet lends itself beautifully to the kind of family holiday where the days don’t need to be over-planned.

Head to the beach, go for a coastal walk, visit the lighthouse, explore the rockpools or grab something to eat in town.

Of course, the Great Ocean Road is waiting when you want to explore further. But some days are better spent closer to home.
